You're mean. I myself stocked crates with q140+ seashells for my fellow nabs to study, instead of just dropping them on the ground (seashells, not nabs).

I personally use q40+ seashells on my main (in large part because there's so much other stuff to do than producing curios to fill my study entirely) but q10 petrified seashells are something that you can barely throw at alts that wouldn't otherwise study anything.

My suggestion is not to outright buff petrified seashells, but add following crafts:
Craft 10 current petrified seashells into uncommon seashell that is better than petrified seashell
Craft 10 uncommon petrified seashells into rare petrified seashell that is better than uncommon seashell

quite ike the idea and think it should be applied to more stuff a well. say to like ladys mantels and thorny thistels and.. well everything with lph less then 100 base.
spend 10 to get one good curio would at least save me some cupboard space (cuz yes I am low tier and also OCD'd so I have to take every curio home to store it :P)

Simple 10:1 ratio seems boring, I would like it better if the resulting stuff is more like the Bouquet of Flowers (= reasonable stuff).
Like
caleidoscope: mirkwood block (looks hollow) + strange crystal + glass
flattened blood : bloodstern in extraction press (with grape juice in it)
silent friend: fish + water + glass + petrified seashell
bad meal: chantrelle + parasol + royal toadstool + plate
rainstick: thorny thistle + mirkwood block (looks hollow) + strange crystal @ anvil (no real cacti so we substitute ;))

Downside: more stuff for Jorb to draw and model.

sounds totally aceptable as long as it includes recepies where these "easy to get bad to study" curios are used and combined to better stuff.

Then I can only suggest to come up with ideas, maybe Jorb gets inspirated by them...
