What I think should happen with FEPs is, instead of getting direct increases from eating food, it increases a certain cap, which than can be reached by doing certain things, Perception from Studying/Using Bow, Strength from Fighting/Mining, Dexterity from Crafting, Agility from Fighting/Running, Psyche from Crafting/Collecting Resources, etc. This does not mean that doing said thing would increase the stat without any prerequisites, you would need to eat food to increase the max stat, than do an action to basically work out the stat, and increase it.

I have nothing against the system now, just something cool.

idk if we should change the fep system, maybe yes, maybe not, but it could be good as replacement of lp system to do something instead of having to wait for curios

To activate it spend A*120 stamina by hard labor or deal a total of A*100 damage with UA or MC", where A is your actual stat value (or some coefficient based on actual stat value). That way to go from 250 STR to 251 STR (or 252 if you've gathered a +2 proc) you'll have to spend 30000 stamina or deal 25000 damage (a very reasonable numbers, considering you already have 250 STR). This will surely shut up those who cries that statcap is "too reachable" or "salt is OP".

Let's look for potential downsides now. It will require some more thought but overall I like this idea very much for W10.

Well i like the idea and from own experience i know its too easy to cap, but that would promote bots to do this hard labor so maybe it should be some act that makes u do it yourself like combat(however i dont think it is hard to make a bot for pve combat) instead of mining which can be done with an alt, and depending on stat it should be something that can only be done by human so bots wont help

Fixed by only letting one player per IP, which could atleast slow down botting.

"lets punish the casuals and lets make botting a requirement to play this game."
There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

Not a solution.

You act as if a bot can't already just play the game for you. While this does not curb any botting problem, it does add engagement to players actually at their keyboards. An additional input step to progress does not force botting.

shubla wrote:What prevents people from botting mining or other tasks.
People who bot can build supports on 1 character while bots are mining on 5 others.
Huge advantages for them.

The same thing that prevents them from botting those tasks now, nothing. If they're botting food up anyway it's not like non-botting players were on even ground with them to begin with. An idea like this is not to stop bots or even the playing field, it's to enrich the game.

yeah, but the point is how putting another grind to a grind is going to make the game more fun?

A grind, action, or input is not necessarily a bad or boring thing. People enjoy the action -> reward sequence of a skinner box. It's why there were so many complaints when the LP system shifted, performing an action was not intuitively making you better at things anymore. A system where you bulk and then go for gainz offers that intuitive step again without adding a lot of work that a player wasn't already going to commit. As a player you're generally already going to have to hunt, mine, farm, fish, build, and generally engage with the world. As long as the system is balanced in such a way that gains are more complex than just (To Get Strength Mine or Punch Bear) and instead, say, you had to fill an invisible gauge to 100, every action fed 1 into it, mining fed 10, bear punching fed 5, etc then it should add a sense of accomplishment for being present in the game world.

Most of the people will enjoy doing the "action" the first times, at the beginning, yeah, later they will just make bots to do it for them and the casuals who can't into bots will be stuck with it forever.

There's reasons why actions don't give LP anymore.
