You can have hide or leather bracelets, functioning as rings, gildable with sewing items like leather patches and patterned embroidery.
That would work nicely alongside with metal rings.

We should get more jewelery, but not early game.

We should get something early-game though. Be it bark bracelets or catgold rings.

maybe even using new craftings to get something like "gems" to be inserted in rings as gildings, would be cool.

But why? Now precious metalcrafting and jewelry is all but endgame activity. I think it'd be useful to have a paradigm shift of sorts. It wouldn't be, strictly speaking, "jewelry", but if would be good for the game: more areas to casual players to explore, purpose for mostly useless stuff that is already in the game inventory. I can't see a downside that inclines you to object.

Does nettle gear lowers value of linen gear?
If a generic newbie ring or bracelet would give, say, +2 str/UA at q10 and +4 str/ua at q60, how would that diminish the value of a Thane's ring?

Assuming nab can make new ring and can not make Thane's ring. Difference between having Thane's ring and having nothing is larger than difference between having Thane's ring and having new ring. Smaller difference means less gain compared to before. Less gain is less value. So this good is less valuable.

Inflationary forces will devalue the ring market.
