fish farms say useing a fishing net you can set up a fish farm near shore, some fish harder to farm then others, different food mabye for different fish (i picture them weak if a boat floats or players swim over fish gone)

I think I've caught like 10 fish in the entire time I've played Haven. I've never found it enjoyable or rewarding.

I'm reviving this shit because hoooooly fuck fishing is stupid.
I've just made a q100 primitive pole, a gold fishing hook, a gold lure, and I used some q180 string. Needless to say, I made one of the best rods ever to be honest.
No exaggeration here what so ever. On my second cast into the water, the lure was lost. Literally, the second cast. You would think when using such high end materials that there would be some sort of added longevity to the rod, considering what you're putting into it.
What I'm getting at here is, I just don't see the benefit to making a good rod. I'd genuinely say that this high end rod I've just made is essentially equal/worse to just making a shitty regular rod and throwing some low q entrails on it and that's just plain silly.

Please revise fishing.

lil necro to throw in my 2 cents. I agree fishing needs some work. I like the new mechanic of being able to fish up people dropped items but its a bit excessive like most are saying. Not sure how its calculated for chance to catch fish vs junk but if we could get that tweaked a bit it might help see more actual fish.

Fishing is a nice thing to do while inactive or in a chill mood. An optional mini game would be cool. Even if people bot it, o well they bot other stuff already like farming/baking which is probably more valuable than fishing anyway right?

There is one actually but when I went to the wiki to try and find out if the mini-game had a name associated with it (such as sport fishing) and which rod you needed I found there to be no information regarding this mini-game which clearly says a lot about how people feel about it. I've honestly never gave it a try even once but from what I understand it's essentially a guessing game and you have to remember the pattern for the next time you wanted to catch that specific fish and probably location, shallow/deep water and phase of moon plays a role as well.

Having had to do some fishing lately with the addition of the quests it's about as boring as I remember.
