If you want to give examples of our lazy and poor attitude, I think you can find a lot of better examples than a complete non-issue of zero consequence what-so-ever. There are a lot of very big projects we could engage in -- seasons, freeform building, &c&c&c -- and minor graphical "issues" -- that I for that matter have no recollection of receiving, though I may well have missed or forgotten it -- may, in that context, indeed find themselves severely triaged on the dev-night chopping floor.

The game uses 5258 resources, and every last one of them could be improved upon.

There is no such thing as perfection in the mortal realm.

IMO graphics is one of two most heart-braking things about Haven now. Another one is pathfinding and/or walking around corners.
The game feels like more or less polished in terms of features and gameplay. Combat maybe, but that's a complicated thingy. Graphics on the other hand is far behind.
As a fellow dev I understand the amount of work it requires.
So maybe, just maybe it could be a good idea to make client more 'open' for other people to contribute in terms of models and animations. Yo improbe the graphics engine, people contibute models and textures.

I'm sorry you feel that way! I disagree, and am fairly happy with where the graphics are @.

It is somewhat important to me that I have made it all myself. At the very least I would not accept community contributions.

While I can generally live with your NIH (not invented here) attitude, the facial expression of the characters is like they're posessed by something really evil that wants to destroy, kill, rape, mame and eat (maybe in a slightly different order) everything in vicinity and beyond.

The models for the toons really need some love, especially the dead eyes... *shudder*.

I'm sorry if I've criticized something dear to you. I appreciate your effort in creating Haven.

To be fair, they mostly tend to turn out that way when you use the bad cam. They are optimized for the isometric, zoomed-out perspective.

Problem is that isometric view gives you big disadvantage against everyone using bad cam. Same as in legacy. People would shoot you outside of your sight if you used default client.

corner-walking and/or pathfinding may help that. I mainly used badcam to properly walk around obstacles
And after one beer I have to admit - the difference between Haven and Hafen is big. Things got waay cuter now.

Why is this not merely a matter of removing the zoom limit?
