Third, if your energy is going down, try uh... Eating? WAOW

It's not about energy going down. It's about energy versus hunger. Hunger is going down way too slow.

For example, I ate enough ants, berries, chantrelles, and cooked meat to get another point. I'm wandering and needed to clear inventory space, so I figured I might as well.

My energy went up to 5934, and my hunger went up to 11% content.

Yea, this is looking literally unplayable.

You may want to focus your attention on your actual diet and setting up a basic feasting setup. :)

It's the beginning of the game. I don't even have claims unlocked yet.

exactly, there are shitty forest berries which give 0,00000000001 feps 15 energy and have 4 hunger while there are a lot more of good crafted foods, which aren't really hard to get

maybe you shouldn't focus on stats if u don't have food industry, and also there is salt which reduces hunger by a lot, making it so easy to reach this 330 stat cap

Exactly. It's the beginning of the game, you're a poor nomad with no kitchen or proper food, so your diet is bad and you eat crap foods you find just to survive.

If you were a rich player you would have access to a plethora of foodstuffs that would keep your energy at 100% while simultaneously giving you stats.

You don't seem like a true roleplayer to me.

...so in other words, you're saying it's OK for the game to discriminate against legitimate playstyles just to counterbalance against imbalanced playstyles?

Why should I be the one who shouldn't do something when the problem is players who deliberately game the system by eating cheaply? If anything, the game should be encouraging players to eat those forest berries just to eat a balanced diet.

If you're a nomad who's eating bad foods, then you should always be hungry.

The problem is my character's never hungry, so he gets a stat penalty in his diet.

The game does encourage eating berries to eat a balanced diet. Food diversity FEP bonus.
All playstyles are legitimate playstyles unless they involve using bugs or cheating.
"game the system"? You mean "play the game"?

I don't think you understand how food works. When you eat food, you become less hungry. If the food is a quality meal, you will become a healthier person (more stats). If the food is random shit found in the forest, you will still fill your stomach, but be less fit.

The devs have clearly acknowledged the legitimate point of appreciating a balanced diet. Characters that eat the same types of food to boost stats are being unrealistic and gaming the system. Those that wander about and eat all sorts of food groups should not be penalized.

The issue at hand isn't the raw amount of stats that food gives. Obviously, well prepared food should give more absolute stats. However, it's also more tasty than bland food found in the wild, so it should satisfy hunger proportionally more to energy. What's found in the wild is nutritious, but not tasty, so it should satisfy energy proportionally more to hunger.

What? Are you seriously implying that the tastier the food is, the less hungry you become? have you ever eaten bread? And players who spam one type of food ARE penalized, in many ways. Stop trolling.
