Locks on Doors

Sorry, no better answer available - this has been asked for quite a while.

Not true. We don't have locks on doors because under the current system (locks can only be penetrated by bashing) it would cause people to wake up to empty villages instead of waking up to empty cupboards.

This has sort of fallen by the wayside now that casual raiding no longer really exists, but it's the reason why we don't have it.

You can't enter unless you have the key.

And if you have no visitor
You can freely enter a house with a lock on the door; only thing it happens is that it leaves a vandalism scent on the door.

Great idea! And this can be done for locked containers too. Entering locked house or opening locked container can require expensive lockpicking skill and tools.

I'm all for this idea. Seems strange to me to be able to lock knarrs (???) but not common doors.

So long as adding them to doors includes a way to get through without bashing houses I don't mind them being added. Mostly as a way to police intra village theft though I guess.

Just came up with the same idea of locks on doors. We can lock funny stuff like palisade gates but no doors, yet.
