I was just bringing up how you could get these early game. For milk you need a bucket, which requires Boards, which requires a saw and an axe, and than you need to clover an Auroch and milk it with the bucket, all super easy to get.

milk doesnt affect forage

If you have 4 satiations below 50%, the lowest one will be increased to 100%, drinking milk lowers the Milk Satiation, meaning that if you have say 49% Milk, 30% Fish, 25% Mushrooms, and 15% forage, when you eat anything again, you will increase your Forage to 100%.
EDIT: However, drinking something will not reset the satiation, it will just lower it. You need to eat something to than get your satiation back to 100%.

Indeed. I think the solution to OP's problem is to simply suck less. I, for sure, never had these problems during the early game.

Difference is that you know what you're doing, a (real) new players mileage may very well vary immensly.

Of course. I guess my main point is that the game as such shouldn't be made easier, because it's arguably far too easy already. If there's something wrong with the learning curve, then that can certainly be discussed, but do keep in mind that there is the distinct possibility, too, that OP simply does suck and that even most new players would do better.

Out of those, only rabbit, squirrel and hedgehog are; on the other there are many other foodstuffs that aren't.

shitty berries in the wilderness cannot be as good as cheese which requires some progress in game and u cant get things for free without doing any progress in this direction.
FYI u can easily get 50 in most of stats with shitty berries only anyway. With their little hunger its hard to leave 200% fep efficiency so u wont need salt too. even with satiations fucked up u can get some feps.just dont eat berries of the same kind before u fill whole bar

If you want a game where players can escape nooby technologies by only use bugs, block-hunting, or AI errors - you going the right way.
Btw we're not suck, i have expierence from w5, that isnt problem for me, its problem for new players. You might admit these aspects, if you doing gamedev. I just pointed to the complexity of newbies that starting a game.
