Mead was the first alcoholic drink. The fact that wine and beer (which is a lot more compliacted to make) is implemented before mead is a logical glitch.

I know it has been suggested multiple times, but mead really needs to be added. It'd be a great way of getting some use out of the tons of left over honey, and it wouldn't require introducing too many new elements to the game.
