If it lasts literally an hour, it is difficult to imagine why one wouldn't just carry the container off-claim and bash it, though.

If it also did not leave scent maybe.

I'm just riffing off of the OP when I say "an hour". I do agree it shouldn't be something quick. It shouldn't be something with a high success rate, either. That's all I really meant.

I will say this, however: I wouldn't bash a chest made with metal on account of how valuable it would be for me. I very often have a hard time finding metal at all, never mind hard metal. So that's one thing.

I do have an even further question: why take the effort to smash open a locked chest when you have little to no idea what's in it (I am assuming it's not labelled) and guarantee yourself a theft scent when you might picklock to see whether there IS anything valuable and only have a CHANCE of leaving a vandalism scent?

Maybe picklocking should be filed under "vile vapour of vandalism" and only if you take something out of the chest should it be called theft. *shrug*

Door locks would greatly improve village layouts to be honest.

There are too many walls in this game.

Large chests are more useful to me than anything people keep inside them tbh, if I steal one and bring it home I want to be able to put things in it.

Honesty.
Mini game not needed.
And would just be cheat able unless fishing mini game what we already hate >;/
so again mini game not needed.

ALSO would prevent us needing to do this each time we wish to lock our damn doors. (again why we dont need locks on doors....we have doors already, we just want doors the look nice, lol)

As for the Lock on chest & more update. this idea helps with preventing a raid. +1
raiding should not be some stroll in the park, you're breaking people hard work.

raiders crying they cant raid fast. boohoo you're not the person who going to quit after the raid.
Rebuttal to the fkers who will say "if they're going to quit after being raided then maybe HnH is not the game for em'"
also of people who are veterans quit even after being raided and wait for next worlds.
It's often people will come back to a raided village and have 0% left.
You guys drop everything to the ground with a simple click of a button.
Smash everything you went thought. break down the houses. and just grief the shit out of everything like holy fuck.
I'm glad J&L are making you take time to smash weeks worth of work.

now you'll have to smash something and spend the next 10 mins digging thought all the stuff on the ground to check Q.

I really wasn't referring to anything in particular regarding mini games or anything else. I was just speaking of "a meaningful lock-picking mechanic". You can really interpret that any way you want.

At least that has a non-trivial cost in resources, as opposed to a lock which costs a block of wood.

Should have some way of at least opening chests off claim. Otherwise half of raiding will just be smashing chests, running some custom client that lists all the stuff on the ground, and picking up what might seem useful. I doubt that's desirable.

But I do still need to use a block of wood for a lock...cuz I lock the pali so that my village mates don't go stealing my curi's

You'll have to forgive me since there are things I have no experience with in Haven, and raiding is one of them. Would it be unreasonable to suggest that when a container is destroyed, each item within it has a percent chance to simply be destroyed with it?

tbh it should be easy when u need to spend 16 hours straight jsut to fucking bash the walls down and if theyve got pro defenses its way longer than that. during these 16 hours all the lewts been altvaulted or w/e anyways xDDD also people who quit when they get raided are total losers i dont think destroying everything is very good but its not bad that you CAN. u nerds need to realize how difficult it is to actually siege something people need to spend this time ACTIVELY sieging and theyre on the disadvantage the whole time because the defenders can gather people at any moment within this time and attack them and ruin the siege and before u cry "NABZ CANT DEFEND THEMSELVES!!!" no one is sieging the nabs and if they were the nabs could just post on the forums asking for help and more than likely someone will try to help

imo the locks on chests are dumb af so picklocking would be cool if it were only for them, id be real butthurt to wake up and see all my knarrs missing XDDDD
