To be honest it's just pure stupidity to ever want to give up a free bonus. It's nothing but pure benefit. Aside from morbid stubborness, there's just no reason for the buff to ever be 'optional'.

Kind of agree with that. Also agree that the present buffs are too crude.

For sure. Perhaps, if there was some sort of negative, I could see rejection being necessary. But at the moment, it's nothing but a freebie. There's no purpose outside of conscience to refuse the buff, which seems to me, to be quite unnecessary.

Would you like to spawn your first character in w10 with 100 in each attribute? Or perhaps a full set of top-end gear for good measure, and a base already built for you? Progress feels meaningless if you didn't actually earn it yourself. As such, I can very much understand not wanting to receive random buffs for no reason.

I personally think the bonus limit (max bonus equal to base stats) is sufficient to still make it feel like you're progressing through your own actions, but I can sort of understand not everyone wanting this progress boost for no reason.

I think there's a difference between the buffs granted by kingdoms that are capped at twice your stats and full stocked bases handed to you at start. If I was late enough in the world for a kingdom to have crazy huge buffs, I'd be more than glad to have such buffs.

The bonuses are easy to turn off by leaving the Kingdom.

the bonus still depends on your stats, if leave at 10 you'll get 20 nomatterwhat

this is great for casual players like myself, in W9 I used a lot those Dis bonuses for farming and foraging....

i'm looking forward to mid game where i'll be looking for a good kingdom, maybe even making one if i get too lucky
