Convenient, maybe, but also ugly. I don't want every village littered with porticoes.

Just make it possible to teleport through gate if you have trespass permissions and the key (slave should wortk for either direction).

Limit the number that can be built to 10 or something and then let us build them underground too.

A limit sounds good, but instead of a hard limit it could be based on a villages maximum authority. I've never had to build a chieften statue for my villages, and this would be a good reason to. Using the portico for intra-village traveling could also drain some authority, to discourage bots set up to port goods back and forth nonstop or something like that.

Which would just lead to more bots in that village to create cheap curious for the authority bots (that don't even need any food, just to refill the mentory) to study.

It's not that difficult to raise village authority anyways and the porting could just cut off when the authority is drained to a certain percentage of its total which would also prevent it from being abused to drain authority to zero. I like the cap being limited by authority though and I think the drain along with weariness consumption is a fair compromise.

I'd settle just to be able to build on a P-Claim
