They've spent too much time focusing on preventing us from being able to cheese them, rather than giving us proper ways of hunting them.

Animals should slow down the more they are damaged and should bleed out the more they are damaged.

I've never been able to trap animals properly and by chasing animals I only catch about 1/10 of the animals I actually fight. Even the ones I do catch take around an hour to chase down.

If animals can no longer run away or are slower upon being wounded, I reccomend animals being groups or mobs. You attack 1 deer and all 3 come to kill you. You attack a moose and his badger buddy who is nearby comes to aid him in battle.

Animals need a fair chance too. However, I agree that them running away faster than your sprint is complete non-sense while wounded.

Asking myself why making things always more dull in game experience.

There's a fight system, use it well. Put in some moves that "damages" the animal in a certain way, or add the chances to damage the creature based on the move. This may or may not ruin some products (less bones, less pelt ql, less meat), but may actually apply certain wounds to the animal, such as broken bones that speeds down the creature, open wounds that makes them bleed, stunning damage and/or attacks debuffs.

To further add onto why hunting sucks, any animal like a bear that does an AoE attack will cause your tamed horse to run away at lightning speed it seems... So the ways to kill animals legit and fairly are slimming down fast.

They succeeded so well that the players who didn't abuse before now cheese without any remorse

For the simple thing that there's no other way to do that. I really suspect that the devs are a bit too much on the fanservice side now, hoping that giving everything to players is the right way to attract people, like the new fishing, that i dunnow if it sucks more or less like the former we had in W9.

In fact, the community in H&H is more toxic now than ever, i've tried to get into this world but there are so many stupid limitations that i decided to not play after just some hours in: so many broken things i cannot even make a list.

What animals are we talking about here? I haven't had any issues killing bats, foxes, mouflons, badgers or boars. Haven't tried bears yet and can't handle aurochs and deer yet. Also haven't tried horses and lynxes but for those it'd only make sense they'd run away at lightning speed.

I can only say that about boars, as they're kinda sluggish. The rest usually runs too fast to catch. That goes for bats aswell, but they have limited area to flee and often block on cave walls so it's not as much an issue.
