I like the hunger system for the most part, I just don't like the way salt fits into it at the moment. Satiations for salt seems like be best approach to me.

Salt could give debuff that increases your stamina drain. Maybe some passive stamina drain as well even if you are only standing still.

I agree I think salt is a bad mechanic. Big factions just horde it anyways and it becomes rich become richer scenario.

Problem is that people who regularly use salt say that its good thing and should not be removed.
Those who are too plebs to acquire it say that it should be removed. So its a pointless discussion.

It's not hard to get a couple of pieces occasionally and that's a problem with the person not a problem with the mechanic. Whether or not I have access to an abundance of salt doesn't change the fact that it's a poor mechanic.
