Would be cool to have some sort of physic for the water ... maybe simulated, a fake physic where the water flow ... so stamina drain would be only against the stream, otherwise the boat will slowly move in the stream direction for rivers .... almost no flow for lakes.

Yeah ropes were used for that in the past.

Can we have a simple canoe before that happens? Like, a hole in a log? Needs a paddle to be held by the player to operate.

There was something like this in Salem and Haven, that would be nice to have.

I feel like we need to consider the glaring issue that hunting at low levels in this game is such an exercise in cheesing the game because of how counterintuitive the combat system is, and how strong most animals are for a noob. There's nothing wrong with the fact that you can't wrestle a boar right off the bat, but that leaves you with no other options than to cheese with a boat, which is what most new people, in my experience, learn and are taught by more veteran players to do. I don't know why the devs seem so intent on making animals sprint away with lightning speed if you're beating them, and with archery over-all being so terrible, and the absence of traps, we really need these things introduced/fixed before we butcher the only (admittedly, inadvertently) reliable hunting mechanic for newbies by making boats more expensive than they already are.

There should be simpler watercraft than boats, yes.

Cork + string = Life Vest. Takes up both shirt slots(or maybe backpack) prevents drowning and idle stamina drain while you use it, but you still must have stamina to move.

The stamana drain to stay still in water is already so low does it really matter?

If anything, stuff like armors should give debuffs to the Swimming value.
