Couple this with the fact that animals can just run straight over water and you have a generally un-fun experience where you can't progress in the game too far (or will struggle doing so) because the animals are given such an edge over you. I'm fine taking wounds from hunting a boar, but I'm not fine chasing down a boar across 3 landmasses (2 of which are separated by shallow water which I had to slog through while it ran) after wounding it enough to run away. What makes it worse is that after cornering it and trying to land the final blow, it took another 100+ damage and knocked me unconscious twice (I thought it'd be on death's door by the second time after all of that running, bleeding, and getting hit by arrows/fists).
Until something gets fixed about this problem, I'm sure many more threads are going to pop up saying to the devs "Hunting sucks guys, fix it."
