Also, realism is a non-argument here because animals don't have stamina which makes persistence hunting impossible while in reality it's humans' oldest technique and is still used effectively by some hunter-gatherers.

This is the core issue really, an animal missing a few limbs will not be able to go very fast or very far.

If animals are gonna run like crazy then add stamina and better bleeding.

Yeah but we need to fix first boat hunting and all that stuff...it's more complex than we can think right now...we'll see in the future if they have some plans.

Couple this with the fact that animals can just run straight over water and you have a generally un-fun experience where you can't progress in the game too far (or will struggle doing so) because the animals are given such an edge over you. I'm fine taking wounds from hunting a boar, but I'm not fine chasing down a boar across 3 landmasses (2 of which are separated by shallow water which I had to slog through while it ran) after wounding it enough to run away. What makes it worse is that after cornering it and trying to land the final blow, it took another 100+ damage and knocked me unconscious twice (I thought it'd be on death's door by the second time after all of that running, bleeding, and getting hit by arrows/fists).

Until something gets fixed about this problem, I'm sure many more threads are going to pop up saying to the devs "Hunting sucks guys, fix it."

The main thing in reality from what I understood is the thermoregulation, humans have the ability to sweat to cool down....many animals we hunted cannot sweat so they have to stop to rest to cool down their body...so in the long distance we have been able to catch them...how fascinating this thing is.....try to think at our ancestors hunting deers....wow

Animals can most certainly sweat, I don't know where you got that idea. There are exceptions (like, I believe, the boar), that's not really what wore them down. We just have insane stamina and staying power as persistence hunters.

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
