Someone still had to grind for the shit you buy with tokens, this pay4branches idea is basically spawning stuff into the world for real money.

Sure but a guy still can join as of 1 hour ago, buy some tokens and trade for the high quality shit. There isn't much of a difference in that regard.

There's a big difference. Tokens replace paying another player real-world money for items/character/whatever, instead the devs get that money. The idea in OP doesn't simply give devs money instead of players, but it also spawns value into the world, the more money you put into the game. Right now if you were to buy a million tokens, that wouldn't create any more high quality shit, it would still have to be grinded.

I know, it's already unanimous that this idea is bad but to dispute it with an argument that is exactly how tokens work was a bit ironic I thought.

One could also say tokens replace actually playing the game and either grinding like everyone else did or grinding out pearls and other wanted trade goods to get the means in some other fashion that requires a little more effort than hitting up the store, but anyways that was beside the point.

I have a better idea. Let's give players 12 hours to play for free every week after which they can pay to receive more hours.

Wow :D How devs didn't see before how good this idea could be? Clearly is an awesome idea, I'm very surprised they haven't tried it yet :D
