Snow already has quality and nodes.

Yeah. My bad then ... I only dug for snow once - a long time ago when I thought I can beat 3 walruses by myself. So I needed a couple of cold compress afterwards. Is there any other use for snow, other then cosmetic mask/snowball?

In essence this idea means we would be creating another industry process, but with the sole purpose of grinding q numbers.

Boiling regular and swamp water and also melting snow are great ideas in my opinion, but they would only make sense if survival was a feature of the game.

I mean at this point that wouldn't really be unexpected since that's the way things are going. There would be a notable ripple effect through tree quality I'd think, but "more spiralling stuff" seems par for the course. The bone clay spiral has been around for ages quietly, steel spiralling has been obvious for a long time and mulch is the first obvious addition of spiralling that I'm aware of.

If you're going to have all the others, I don't really see why water should be left out I guess. You could limit the ripple effect by making boiled water only higher quality when piping hot and only good for cooking or something if you wanted.

I agree that's likely to happen, and jorb has also responded favorably to melting snow and raising water quality through filters or similar mechanisms. Still, it wouldn't really be any meaningful game content, just another tool to grind quality.

Fleshing out quality grind is meaningful game content, it's just not new meaningful content. And it doesn't solve any of the current issues in game.

Also if I may suggest we can do it more complicated that I think would please the devs - How about if you boil snow into a high q cauldron you get high q water on some kind of forumla. Also add quality to snow, with nodes and shit.

I think this is a really good point, I always hate trading for water because you need to use so much of it, it gets a bit rediculous with how much you need to spend for it, buying a high Q cauldron for a 1 time cost would be a great thing for hermits who play a decent amount, or at least enough for a tree farm.

My issue with this is if I am understanding it right... just means boilging the water collecting steam and your done better Q water? I could see this but it also need to be I see as a side affect of like distilling booze, cause the same thing could be use for both. But saying that if you happen to find a really high quality well and dig it down enough it might surpass what can at even this point in the game be done with with stuff I have heard q wise in game.

But its nice as is to have something simple that already has 1 way to improve and easier if you find the right well (so far my rule is dont dig deeper any well below q25.... but that is just me).

If we where given a still of some sort I be happy if purifying water as a side affect though.

What do you need a lot of it for exactly? I might be a bit behind on mechanics. When I was playing in the past at least, you could save high Q water for trees, and then it was 100 trees per barrel. Are you using it on baking or is there a new water guzzling mechanic I'm missing?

The gap between a hermit and a faction is much much wider than most are aware of, and then some. Something like this wouldn't even effect much in that regards.
