No farming has had some time saving actions applied to make it less tedious. Growing to much food for a single person to enjoy is not the problem of the game. It is a limitation imposed by your desire to have one person feed so many. Food is power in Haven to much for people to mega feast and all you get is big titan warrior battles that get tired and then turn them upon new players for kicks.

It is a mistake to undermine the social aspect and how people form their own communities while designing the game. The game is to be designed for the people. If people rely all the work on 1 poor soul, that is how the community works. Nothing will change the human mindset in that regard. I have known and seen many villages that would do the same set-up: miner, hunter, sewer, cooker and the farmer. Guess, who gets the least fun thing to do and has to spend much more time on the game daily. Yeah, developed communities might share farmer accounts and spread the load between themselves, but the general picture is that in majority of villages (small ones with 2-4 people) it's only 1 person who does the farming.

And nah, normally, the noobslaughterfest happens when you do not really have that much in stats. More you progress to the game and play it, less desire you'd have to kill some random nabs. The reasoning might be that it's too boring, nothing to get out of them, low desire to leave redhands, white knighting and etc.

Honestly, I think, at this point, the devs should go full experimental mode and try to test as many scenarios as possible. No-one will get hurt if for some time (the devs should tell until which date the proposal will be tested) everyone will have to spend less time on farming and more - on far more meaningful things to do.

Or perhaps you could have 2 farmers? maybe 1 less noob-whacker, pretty sure you could spare one of those? Plenty of people find the farming side of the game fun and if you make it too efficient then it will just become something that everyone can do easily which will devalue that side of the game. If you can't recruit enough farmers then you can trade for their goods.

You guy don't get it. It is not me or my plot having that problem, but people in the community. And as I have said, it is pointless and destructive to rely on people to change their behaviour, not the game. It's the same as hoping that nabs won't be slaughtered one day just because the community could do it. Yeah, they could but they won't.

perhaps a middle ground where hand farmed crops better for q but a machine (or w/e) faster, mabye lowwers q slightly or stays same

i do wish there was a way i chould mass harvest in faster time idc about the q much (most the time) even better utilize the wagon mabye for farming with stockpile going in object spot and removed with wheel barrow or can access from cargo and take what you need

It would be nice if the auto-taker would work when being mounted to a wheelbarrow so it would directly stack onto it.
End effect would be the same (stockpile on a wheelbarrow, able to be moved somewhere), just less clicky to actually get there.

Please come take care of our pumpkin patches, it only takes like 3 hours if you use two characters.

Granger's wheelbarrow suggestion would make that less annoying, but beyond that LadyV has the point. If you want that much food, don't land it all on one person. Recruit more farmers and parcel out the work so they don't go insane. 3 hours ~1.25 times a week spread out over 2 people each using 2 chars starts to get more manageable.

I think the honest problem with farming is that it's too monotonous. Mining takes similar amounts of time, but no one complains about that. Perhaps some kind of fairly regular, but beneficial, mini events should be involved in farming? My initial thought would be something like spirited mandrakes. But I'm not a fountain of ideas on that point.

Also beyond all this, farming used to be less intensely in demand before it was the mother of all stat creation. It seems every stat is raised by pies now, which has compounded the issue.

Planting and harvesting speed are fine for me, but growing time kills me. Maybe we could implement another mechanic than placing beehives around, like watering the plants, or fertilizing ground to speed up the process, or improve the chance to get higher quality seeds after harvest. So each tile would have own humidity and fertility so that one should keep an eye to keep the ground in optimal state for the plants to grow faster.
