Quality doesn't matter much for a couple of them, and that makes them griefable to a degree. Not sure it solves the issues at hand.

Deterioration of quality to 0 (degraded object that can't be used), increase in respawn time. This is just a possible side-effect.

Why don't we just make palisades on mountains bashable with hand due to "terrain being too rough". That already would solve the "claim first" issue and that's about 50% of the problem being repaired.
No need to fight with claims when you can just bash the wall without any problem.

the easiest way to stop almost 99% of the abuses around natural resources is to simply give that resource a "natural" property claim.

If you gave them each a 50x50 claim, this would make it almost impossible to block them off with walls. why 50x50? this is because a village idol gives 50x50 which means your village idol would have to be built outside of the natural claim and would not cover the resource. you would also not be able to built any flags on the resources claim. Effectively there is no way to block the resource node off unless you bannered completly around the resource and made a gigantic wall. And gigantic walls are hard to do on mountains.

regarding the resources already claimed... it would be nice if they could simply create a script to hop around and look at each resource and "nuke" any claim/wall that is not part of someones main village/plot.

and obviously you would be able to grab stuff off the natural claim etc, it would only prevent building on it.

Good pit clay (Q40+) is not in the mountains, for example. In the future, other new resources are possible in other biomes. Available resources can be later transferred to other biomes too.

My suggestion before, and is now, is that these "natural resources" should be randomly spawning.

It should still be 3 RL days before it fills up, which you would be able to determine by using the "inspect" action on the new random spawn resource as you can do now.
In this way the "competition" for the spawn should be maintained.
You also couldn't just leave an alt logged out next to it.

Just make walls and claims have no soak. So you can pali bash and stuff. So you can claim to your life's content but the claim will never dry, neither will paliwalls.. make any wall within a claim not dry. So even if they put walls a fair way away from resource it will never dry and can always be bashed will low str like 40 lol. Problem solved.. and no vandalism needed

Bad idea.

Why would you penalize villages/claims for staking claim to a resource? The whole point of being able to increase the size of a claim is to expand/gain resources.
Claiming of the resources is already enforced, by PVP and siege.
If you don't like the fact that a powerful village has a resource claimed, then join them or take it for yourself.
This sounds like a socialist idea to me. "Ohh everyone needs an equal share of the resources!"

No. Finders keepers.

The cost/reward for sieges make sieging virtually pointless mate.
