yes it is cheap. but people still do it anyway. if someones stealing stuff from someone else they usually get a cupboard anyway regardless of how they must make one or take one.. so either way teleporting with cupboard still happens. it would make it a fraction easier but so be it? means its ten times aasier to muild hundreds of them for use in a mine where they dont deay

ya I agree with you, it's enough that filled cupboards can't be placed in to a vehicle there is not much reason to restrict where they can be built

Gotta disagree here. Cupboards provide a huge amount of easily accessible storage and should have the places they can be built in limited in some way. I don't like the thought of some guy building a CB in the woods and then maxing it out. If he wanted that CB in the woods, he should of brought one with him. Seems like a small thing, but I don't like the thought of it. Rather than remove the building restriction on cupboards entirely, I suggest they be buildable within 10 tiles of a house. That or some higher tier carpentry skill that removes the limitation.

That's fair but it's also not hard to just take a cupboard with you, using a horse you can carry it fast enough and when you get enough strength you can carry one at 3 speed. There are still better alternatives to storage when foraging because you can take a boat with two large chests, wagon, knarr or you can even take a bull with the packrack for container storage.

Perhaps in the early game this would be somewhat advantageous but it seems more like you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I'd much prefer the convenience of not having to build cupboards in the cramped spaces of a house. Also you can store cupboards in a cave/mine but can't actually build them on that terrain so there's a fallacy to that building restriction logic already.

The limitation is there precisely as to introduce access to a house as part of the cost, which is particularly relevant early world, or for a new character.

Unless there is a burrow nearby.
