I am not sure whether the natural resources should always be unclaimable by the vclaims. I'd think it would be more fitting if sieging them would take like 6-7 hours, rather than 20 hours.

To prevent this can be a reverse event: periodically portals spawn monsters that kill everyone/destroying buildings in a certain radius.

That could be fun too. People do not really like trolls wandering around their mineholes. So it could potentially gather some raid parties to clear up the area.

The kids have nothing to do there, I suppose. Kids can either join the party, or ignore the event. In addition, there are always options.

the main reason id want them smaller cause raid one big village and you got all the speacial loot you want and smaller settlements make it so you wont always get what you want

but on 2nd thought if most were small then 1-3 capitol type citys for them whould be cool (super hard to raid)

It depends on the size of a village, location and etc. Big boys risk getting ambushed by their enemy since they normally leave scents around. Also, if the settlements would be located underground and scattered around the world, it would be harder to find them.

Nope. I do not expect hermits to be able to solo a city. But something that could be raided by a party of 3 - why not? The NPC spawn rate could be slower and etc. You guys are speaking like every single settlement location would be known by default.

Haha, wow. That's a huge suggestion. I don't hate it, but it'd take some doing to say the least.

Will consider in a year or two when we have some other key things done.
