The point of them is to extend the basic inventory, and I don't think force dropping everything if you happen to unequip an inventory extender is a good or well-designed alternative either. I don't mind if you sometimes have to scramble a bit to drop shit and get a weapon up.

whaqt about just dropping the stuff in the slots when you unequip?

Personally I think thats kinda a good thing if youre caught of gaurd you have to improvise plus if you have enofe ua it shouldnt be to hard to kill most things without a sword and dropping stuff doesnt even take to long
