Originally I think the main objections to sub-tokens were the use of them in trade, whilst you are giving the devs money you are also then funding the top players in the game, as well as encouraging over-payment for goods. Over time though I think the majority have just accepted them and opposition isn't as strong.

Personally, I don't and wouldn't use sub-tokens in trade though I have no objections to sub-tokens in other areas, i.e subbing to the game or as gifts.

Yeah sure, like already happening with bots/customs clients cheats .... the truth is that people take always the easiest way.
Plus subtokens are part of the game, they can be stolen like any other item, without them people will pay directly the person who give him in game items, that is way worse than subtokens. If you want to spend real money, at least they should go to devs, that's why I'm pro subtokens, otherwise would be a mess.

subtokens should stay, there is still exist a very healthy marketplace without them.

I think you're drastically underselling the amount of effort required to police such a thing, even if you had people reporting these "offenders" to the developers, there's still a great deal of investigating such reports for validity, not to mention most cases would be your word against theirs with no papertrail to follow, and what would be in it for the developers to waste development time on banning their already small playerbase?

imo, dont know how to play w/o subscribe after u use it once,
i dont like to donate to games, i prefer when u can get it by ingame mechanics.
(id like to buy games, but pay each month - no thk)
as for me, i've made alot tokens(by trade) at start of the world .
then i realized that i'll not play H&H 60 month, i start to gift them to every one who lives near (as the drug dealer: "1st dose free" )
// im sure it helps DEVs, when i offer goods for tokens and spiced some one to donate (with my free tokens)
i've keep some for the world wipe,
i'm waiting great patch & rework(food, fight, siege) & reset(alot ppl, clean world)

P.S. i can reccomend to devs made ingame "stock exchange" (pearl/gold/token) , many MMO have it (Blade&Soul, AlbionOnline)
it may looking like "trade|sucrifice to gods" (but not needs to found some donaters on forum to make sub-token)
PPS tokens should be more common like nomad: credo \ merchant robe (inv) & pearl necklace \ cavehermit (LP boost)

If anything, I would suggest the subtoken modification - being able to buy the smaller sub. timeframes (day, hour, week, and etc.). It'd make it possible to use them more in trades, but they won't replace the coins completely because of their scarcity.

Subtokens are fine in my opinion. In legacy haven there was a lot of paying real cash for ingame stuff without the devs benefitting for it. Anything that keeps the devs fed and motivated as long as it is not directly pay to win is fine with me.
You could let the subtokens work and look similar to coins with 1 subcoin beeing equal to 1 day allowing for smaller transactions

I would suggest that a token can be split into a stack of 'Sand of Time' (just to throw in a name) that works similar to seeds (in terms of stacking/splitting) and a recipt to combine a full stack of it (with some added glass, wood and fiber) back into a token, ingame - instead of littering the store with different versions. Added fun when a (whatever sized) stack of Sand of Time could be snorted (as Boar Tusk Snuff back in legacy) to add the gametime represented by it, so leftovers (when using it as trading chips) can still be used.
