And what once you destroy your hearthfire? It doesn't seem to accomplish that much that idea to me.
We need a better idea ... keep thinking.

This would be the best way to do it. As usual sMartins has a terrible idea.

I wasn't gonna say it, but it really needed to be said.

Apart from deciding whether it's a good idea or not (I'm honestly unsure), the greatest problem with that solution is what happens with a character who has no hearth fire, or one whose hearth fire is destroyed while he is logged out. The most elegant solution to that problem seems to be "cannot log out if you have no hearth fire, and is forced back into the game if hearth fire is destroyed", and that's not all too elegant.

What about when hearthfire is destroyed the items carried are dropped on the place of the previous hearthfire?

No death for the char, only material loss.

And that's to pay for that someone was in the position to even destroy your hearthfire.

It just seems overly harsh for new players whose hearth-fires out in the wild would just be inviting piñatas ripe for the smashing.

Yeah, I haven't tought at that .... cool idea, but it also doesn't work ... cause the char life is involved and the new player thing .... i mean would be too harsh.
It's not easy to find a solution.

Already said, the only problem I see with this is that would give away the last char position .... and I don't know if good or bad ....
ehh ... probably we would see a lot of prisoners around the world in small palisades :D
