.... unless internall part of houses will fially become part of the same grid - there will be no windows.
Or they will be permanently closed.

Because as soon as you start that way - you will hae to do something that you can see outside and inside. and synch.

I've been thinking that at least the bottom level would be no different to the exterior level. It's just walls and the ground floor. Maybe the upper and lower floors should be the same as well.

Just for the record, customizable buildings will probably have to wait until the object-controlled-object system upgrade, but that being said, customizable buildings is definitely one of the primary things we want to utilize that upgrade for, and that we haven't really formulated a system for yet, so I appreciate the discussion. I very much agree that making such buildings aesthetically viable is an important goal when formulating such a system, and I appreciated some of the points in the OP as things I might not have thought of if not pointed out.

If anything, I would vastly prefer a system that requires as little formal UI (like a blueprint designer UI) as possible, but if it's a necessary evil for a greater end result I may be open to it.

This is really cool, i think it must be in game like haven, i think there is a time to rework it, house system wasnt changed since legacy.
But i cant even imagine how hard implement this in game.

1. What to do with door system (as you remember entering a house is a teleportation to another map)
2. Indoor mechanic need to be revamped (to the system of determination where indoor starts, and when outdoor starts)
3. Tons of bugs that will be come from 1. and 2. (for example, how to prevent opening a container through wall from outside?)
4. Other things of mechanic that invisible for players.

Just to understand, I know that the object-controlled-object system is required, cause you mentioned many times.... but is this system something related to the "height" dimension? ... I mean, would be possible right now to build, for example, a fence floating over the ground ... or this is exactly what the object-controlled-object system is about?

Thanks for the appreciation. I am planning to keep updating the topic with the new ideas as well.

That would be amazing. I already imagine people selling their blueprints at the markets and working as architects in hafen :D

but if it's a necessary evil for a greater end result I may be open to it.
TBH, the blueprints system you've noticed is a great solution. Especially if you could customize stuff on the forum, then craft the blueprint in-game.

Blueprints could resolve the issue. Just do not use the houses as walls :D and make sure that you've tested everything regarding house-jumps.

Basically it lets you build everywhere, at any height also, a ghost image or blueprint, then you have to finalize it adding the materials .... of course stuff floating around,etc .... so not supported, it doesn't let you finalize them.
