Oh i see ... so to not have them in the client animals shouldn't appear in the world too. I get it.
Well tbh i wouldn't care too much about that, but i'm not a developer. It's the old thing about it can be cheated so I won't implement.
Tbh i think that the game design is more important of what can be cheated or not. Even in an MMO game.
But, said that ... would be cool if this whole thing would come with a remake of the hunting system. Where you first need to discover scents of big animals, and these scents would be the animal discover. So they will not pop up from the air.
And also ... the thing i already said multiple times, a hunting system similiar to URW.

P.S. If you haven't discovered all the scents yet, for aggressive animals, another way to discover them would be being attacked by them from nowhere, cause you cannot see them yet, but when they aggro you, the discover will trigger. This would be the bad way to discover aggressive animals :D
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

That being said, it wouldn't be impossible to not send information at all about the animals to the client until they come "close enough to be discovered", or something like that. The question is just if it wouldn't just look weird when they popped out of thin air suddenly.

I'm not opposed to having animals hidden on the world map until discovery. It works basically the same way in real life. Until you manage to actually spot or hear an animal, they're hidden.

Ideally under this 'hidden in the world' system, the more often you find and catch certain animals, the bigger your radius of detection becomes. After all, the hardest part of hunting an animal should be finding it, not catching it

All these suggestions seem unintuitive (which is terrible considering this would only affect noobs), pointless, removable with custom clients, and/or bad.
