mining on the economy side of HnH is pretty much just that~ rolling in cash.
While the other trades don't really offer much compared to mining.

Miners already making some of quickest ways to produce Curios.

While farmers are time gated on making their own, and limited to the size of their fields.

Fishers are laughable in terms of study objects, but make sense at the same time.

Hunters could do with a buff to Curios on what they can provide and make. (stuff bears shoulda stayed at 4...)
Forgers make the shittest curios so basiclly be a Hunter/forger.

So many things could be added to advance this game. mining is not one of them...

Mining is now also lot more dangerous than farming/fishing/hunting, because of the slimes. And mining requires a lot of infrastructure to do. You need high stats, (food from farming and hunting.) and high materials (wood from trees, high trees require water clay soil) and so on.

Late in the world the slimes are not so imposing because we have q300 armor and weapons, and 1k stats. But I expect them to be a lot more trouble in the new world.

Mining becomes a high risk high reward kind of thing which is extremely cool.

gems are fine

gem nodes produce great altfodder and useless curios for various things, but the high-end ones are rare, and making them better requires a lot of time and management, rather than just bada-bing bada-craft

this is a fine addition to mining pls no chang

i have not seen any gold egg in the last 3 worlds (jotun size gem - every 3 hrs), needs to compare spawn (difficulty in obtaining) of farmers curiosity with miners curiosity . (and dont forget: that is the best curio in game)
Do you find rough Jotuns or brilliant Jotuns every 3h?

The former might be reasonable (while the latter wouldn't) as the chance to mess it up when cutting it into brilliant isn't that good.

Speaking of cutting: all gems found should be rough ones by definition, unless you find them on a human skeleton surrounded by slime or guarded by a troll.

Fishing is meh, hunting is defiantly = to mining, you might run into players.
Slimes are only dangerous as they currently have been glitched over and over. so this is not really a vaild point.
They are also very simple to deal with, it's just that you guys go in with full str gear instead of armor. by lv 3-5 you should already have it.

mining requires infrastructure of it's own product. clay and wood for tools. and since clay is now dependent on not survival but Mason they are very easy build a infrastructure in one day. where farming has a lot more infrastructure/time gates and task.

Str of 100+ can be gained in one day.
The miners end up with Curios out the ass and are rich no matter what they do since people always need metal.

Then back to economy terms. Metal rules the markets without needing any other trades goods to do so.

Basiclly my point being is smithing has way to much and should stop being focused on.
Adding stuff to underground sure. but it shouldn't to rely on a smith/miner to get it.
and they defiantly shouldn't be better then crafted curios or they will be botted to fking hell.

Noting, but on other trade's it's time gated mining you can leave all night and wake up in the morning to a fk ton of Metal/gems.

J&L keep making good lethal ideas to mining but then nerf it the moment someones (main who was left botting) bot dies.

The only suggestion or change about gems I would make is that they should be tuned to be shittier on the first few mining levels and/or scale based on the time of the world and how long it has been going for, as right now they're mostly in a fine situation considering how high Q everything else is.
But I'd see it being a must have 10/10 curio in the first months of a new world If it isn't changed to compensate for the rough and slow curio gains at the beginning of a new world.

The very concept of mining on a timegate makes me shudder

Was not saying to make it time gated. My point is Mining economy is WAY to good.
and that mining gems should not be on par with top curios.

And that other trade's need to be worked on instead of just mining.
and that mining can be botted if J&L make it to easy, players don't need to be able to kill/ beat everything. running away should be a thing at times.
