Would it be possible to make a bug box out of wood and glass, which by itself is an awful curio, but has the ability to store bugs that increase its overall LP gain? Also, certain types of bugs like stag beetles would add more LP than other, more common bugs.

so everyone just put here only stag beetles, it would be better if u need all bugs to craft an item, include even silkmots, rather than just any bug.
Or use ur mechanic but half lp and double exp cost for same bug.
