The ultimate pve experience.

The suggested border seems excessive, it might be better if only one side expands to this hardcore zone.
And if loftar doesn't like this because it messes up his map, the same exact idea could always be implemented in L6, possibly even entered directly from the surface through abyssal chasms.

Basiclly same idea, just different way to put it out there.
Scaling Difficulty: Please send me to Hel.

I at first thought it sounded silly but it grew on me. but lv5 mining of KaiMolan idea was just eh.
and only the top 10% would make it out of reach for explorers like myself...

And your idea of expanded world to make it still kinda make's it meh, feeling.
The realms would be explored within a month tops and then people would only go to a few areas.
But it does give a nice old runescape hardcore pvp feeling to it, lol.

same as Kaimolan gate idea, but still honestly building it would feel better...

Gates~ would make an interesting idea and opens a gaterealm('s) up to a major possibility.
That being to be able to reset or remake the realm every few hours or even make a realm last for a few days.

Being Gen differently to be a world filled with just swamps and roads or a giant ocean with islands.
Easy having a few hours for us to pillage the loot of the world and possibly meet other enemy's.

This sounds like a good idea for roads in general.

On topic: loftar stated that his goal is a map that expands the moment a character reaches the border, making it effectively boundless. So something like chasms as entry points might make more sense. Or eternally freezing cold in the north (and possibly a scalding hot desert in the south) so the map can be fertile in the west/east directions.

Yeah, I'd also rather see some biomes differentiations for you to require certains tools/skills/wears to cross ... Zelda botw like, that would be cool.
Btw the idea of no HF travel, and fast travel in general, sounds very great to me for harsh regions. Or maybe your HF could have a radius that you can expand in some way.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.
