You mean the feasting bonuses? that'd be nice. It'd be a shame if cooking didn't get more depth simply because it was already good enough

Master Chef Credo and Olive Oil

Postby Gatekeeper1 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 4:59 am

New Credo that would require 5 other credos: Hunter, Fisherman, Forager, Farmer, and Gardener.

I thought the Bonuses to the credo would look something like this:

* +15 Cooking +15 Perception.
* Small quality increase on all crafted foods.
* Small speed increase on crafting foods.
* Moderate chance to double crafted food.
* Ability to create Master Chef Extraction Press ( Needed for Extra Virgin Olive Oil).

Shubla gave me the idea of Olive Oil working something like pepper on foods in the Olive Oil thread. I thought olive oil could be added to all foods, which would give a small amount of Agility, and also increase the overall FEPS of the food. Something like this :

Quality FEP Bonus Agility Bonus

10 15% 4
40 30% 8
90 45% 12

The Formula could be : 15 X sqr(quality/10)

I also read up on some old style extraction presses, and found one that used a large granite wheel to press the olives, and it was filtered through fibers and a wool filter, so thought a Master Chef Extraction Press formula could be:

(Avg Board + Avg Block + Avg Granite + Avg Fiber + Wool Filter)/5

Where wool filter would be:

(Avg Wool + Avg String)/2

As others have said on the olive oil thread, there could be many other uses for this oil besides food.

We definitely need a cook credo.
The main difficulty of cooking is that it drains too much stamina and the production is slow. I am glad that you can craft from a barrel since the last update.
A small quality bonus to all fuel added to ovens would also be good to have.

Yea the outcome of this thread was already pretty much that fep gain is too easy and i have to agree, though I'll want a cook credo eventually in the game.

giving faster baking times is interesting.

Cook Credo

Postby ryanmanw3 » Sun Mar 18, 2018 5:07 pm

Seems weird this hasnt been implimented yet, but i was thinking something along the lines of

1. +15 Cooking
2. 10% increase to speed of crafting food
3. +25 cooking
4. 5% quality boost on food
5. Ability to build and use Industrial oven. I was thinking 5x5 window

Similar suggestions merged. Found at least 3 different threads on the matter simply by searching thread title. A couple of those were threads already merged together.

+1 to faster food prep/quality up somewhere/chance to double output. maybe only affect baking goods. possibly new recipe for food or curio, especially if high energy:hunger ratio

idk if it should require farming but at the least foraging and should branch to meat and other branches of edible goods
