Yes. The only time I wear socks is if I have to wear boots in winter weather, but then I take them off as soon as possible.

Yes, it is maybe this. I even wear sock with house shoe.

Costumes I could see, but who would pay money for cosmetic socks? Unless they were really cheap..

Silk shoes with leather soles would be a better idea, imo. Wearing socks without shoes in the wilderness would wear out the socks really, really quick.
