Once again this retarded idea is brought up because of wanting to have items constantly in persistence in the game world. In a game like haven the amount of abuse from this would be on stupid levels from instant teleportation of goods across the map to betrayel of stealing keys and claim tokens. When it got implemented in salem i hated it because when my base got attacked i had to abandon it because the attacker took my gear before i could log on so i couldnt defend myself which is fucking retarded and it bred scum like heffer who just stole non stop from every noob no matter what they had.

My biggest gripe about the system was that it was introduced coz of the money grubbing pos dev whose failing real estate business and low player base was sending him broke so he thought if he made it so you lost your store bought goods you might rebuy them again and again.

i personally dont care about alt vaulting and local resources that much to need a crappy mechanic when theres much better ones. if anything id rather we could bury items or hide them in hollow trees or lakes to retrieve later.

Stealing from Leantos in Salem doesn't have the teleportation exploit since said teleportation can be achieved by moving goods through Capital City (feel free to think this as a downside, I mostly like them but NPC towns do take something from the game as well.) main reason for this is to prevent alt-vaulting but it brought about problem that newbies can be devastatingly griefed, especially since they implemented hypothermia. Your character can be robbed naked and as result, freeze solid and wont thaw for a week or two that Cold Snap season lasts. Of course you could make stealing from Hearthfire somehow be a worse crime but griefers could still use alt for it.

No, i myself use that item teleportation during raid. All what you need to mowe crazy ammount of stuf from anywhere is just alt with raiders who pick up stuff and logout+another alt in your base who steal stuff from firs alt Leanto. With good crime set +high BB it is wery easy. It is a big abuse.

I think there is something real wrong with people who DEFEND alt vaulting as a mechanic.

Even now you can destroy hearthfires of noobs on forests if you would want to mess with them, but not that many do it..

It requires more effort to alt vault if you have to destroy their HF's, also there is risk of blockading their log out location and they spawn to some random place in wilderness, further adding effort to get the items.
