While fact-checking my post about Ultima Online slimes, I ended up watching video about the ecology system that had to be abandoned because players simply killed everything. Essentially animal spawns were tied to existing animals reproducing based on available food. Herbivores really ate grass that was actual game world object. Devs had hoped people would mostly kill carnivores because they had most valuable pelts but as long as it dropped something, it was going to gt killed. Haven has some incentive against this with the need to haul animals to butcher them. I recently joined village that wonders why I bother bringing back q48 boars.

If unarmed AoE attack is ever to be implemented, it would probably have to be Stomp. In case you don't know, it's one of the most basic combat moves on Salem and quite cheesy with its radius and stun. It could make sense if it had tiny radius and only affected small creatures like slimes and adders, maybe fox at most.

I have to disagree. I like slimes.
