My bet is it will either be inside of a small area like a dungeon, outside world borders or otherwise usually inaccessible place .
Or, just make it so that the boss either doesn't agro by himself, gives you a timer, or maybe even it's a sleeping dragon guarding a chest and when you open it the fight starts.

actually, I think I like that idea, but make the chest locked until after fight so that people wont take stuff and gtfo.

also since we don't have a loot rolling mechanic in haven, and these fights would be intended for people who might not be teamed up before, what does everyone else think about possible rewards from it besides xp or lp?
or should it just be normal chests and have to trust people to share (if 50%~ of those events end in a pvp bloodbath for greed i'd be ok, any more than that and it'd be a problem imo.)


you DO know that jorb and loftar run this game right? they freaking delight in our suffering. crab caressed, seal finger, nerve damage, warts, they made archery useless for combat, they made ranged attacks softcap animals based on ammo quality.

they put shit in this game just for us to rage at. world bosses would burn whole villages to the ground. just watch.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

It just struck me that the realm chat has opened up a new possibility for world bosses, which is realm-bosses that you can defeat to give a certain buff to your realm,
since now people can inform each other of such an event in that certain area.

For example: You hear whispers in the wind, and get a new quest. Mother nature calls for your help, as one of her natural wonders are under attack by vicious creatures
Maybe you need to be oathed to the realm maybe you can come for your own amusement
you travel to an area, maybe heartwood tree or fell ancient tree, and together with whoever is there (which you can coordinate now with realm chat) have to fend off monsters
for some time. maybe as rewards you can upgrade the quality of the local resource you're defending, or just give a temporary / small but forever boost to the realm.
Or, it could just give you good loot and some xp. But make them spawn only in realms, to make it more of a mid-end game type of thing.
