You need 1.5 ingredients per day per person... Once you get the per*exp it is trivial to get enough for several people with one forager. That's before we mention toads are basically free since you just grab what you need of the 30 hopping around while you grab the shrooms.

Compare this to mirks or feather trinkets, items you would be putting it on par with, that require significant amounts of daily maintenance to keep running for one person.

Mirkwood Offerings are not a good point of reference as it's easily the best early game curio and should definitely not be considered the standard. If anything, Mirkwoods should be nerfed.

But another major factor, as Sevenless pointed out, is study time. You need over 12 Mirkwoods per day for maximum efficiency, whereas something like Enthroned Toad doesn't need as many curios for the same length of time. Having something with Mirkwood efficiency but Enthroned Toad study time would be crazy.

It's fine to let some things be mediocre. People who happen to be on really good nodes for them will make them. I sit on a Q40 frog spawn node and it's a really good curio for me because of that. But at Q10 it's kinda meh.

only plebeians don't respeckt enthroned toads. you just gotta find quality nodes for 3 ingredients, all easy to forage. at decent q its outcompetes alot of shit people seem to prefer, lp/hour/att. the time you save grinding for other curios can be put directly into questing, which has a far bigger outcome on your progression longterm than marginally better study reports due to broken questrewards/feps etc.

and then I found contemplation exists, wow. even then gathering 3 items every 22 hours isn't exactly demanding, easy LP, EASY LIFE.
