While I can perhaps agree with the sentiment that satellite claims should be harder to maintain, it seems a bit overly harsh to require the owner to be on the claim at the exact time that LP is gained. It would perhaps be more reasonable, in that case, to maintain a time of last visit, and scale presence gains down gradually as time goes on.

I do fear, however, that the only thing it really means is that satellite claims will have their own low-key alt on them at all times. I'm also not entirely sure that satellite claims are really a problem in and of themselves -- while the claims that I would consider problematic are satellite claims, I'm not sure the converse holds true.

Whenever I read what Granger proposes (or remember W8), I have a feeling that he has that aching hatred for all living beings.

In case it's forget about claim permissions this would be fine, but people quite often claim areas just to deny them to others and do not use them at all afterwards.
It feels like a nonsense to claim an area without a purpose and keeping it up. Seems like the problem is made up right from the air. At least, I have not done such things.

Ok, so placing claims should give you some injures. When you place more than one claim there is a chance that you can die. And they should decay fast. I think 10 second for claim will be enough. Probably everything should decay even at starting room. And deceases. You should get deceases in start room. Only characters with token can leave creating room. And decay in game world in two hours ofc. With such gameplay Granger can catch top players, even doing nothing you will be at top.
We also need some glue here, but i have no idea where.
Give a man a game engine and he delivers a game. Teach a man how to make a game engine and he never delivers anything.

As I said, If I am just the person holding them I don't. Farmer have no reason to go to Level5 mine or clay claim, while his villagers / co-workers can. Hermits since slime updates don't frequently visits deeper levels probably that often. Just, stop, please.

And people creating more alts just for that...

well before the bad times (for me in game)

i did have a massive million(or mabye a few 100,000 im not 100%) +lp claim i didnt visit it for almost 7-8 months it was still up heathly and undisturbed but clearly in someone way, i refused to drop bond at first when thay asked (i rreally wanted to get some work done on a horse arena) but still i had not been to the acual site for months

well thay quit and there my claim stood for few more months till i droped the bond in water and just forgot about my fav project (building it solo was not the plan)

it shoulda decayed, it would helped the guy it woulda modivated me to go visit and mabye acually do work, and it was easy for me to hold this massive claim indefinetly which when i finally ditched after not playing very much at all it was still heathly and full i was amazed

It's already annoying trying to defend quest-givers and roads. Why do you feel the need to add unnecessary tedium into every facet of the game? Just to promote alt spam, since you'll need one for every claim you need?
