Absolutely no to the thread topic... I'd prefer a very infrequent serverside map tile analysis and self seeding forests dependant upon tree density and nearby terrain types. I have no problem personally with grassland being constantly overrun by forests.

Alternately allow certain tree varieties to self coppice from stumps.

Troll potential for direct seeding forests is off the scale.

Hate to bring it up, but the old stunting mechanic could come back. If people try to troll with trees too much, such as tree walls, then they all stunt at stage 0, and allow those to be passible as if the character was walking through tall grass.

IMO, no to the old stunting mechanic*. Thus, not sure I can really support this idea overall. Better to not allow something that is too easy to troll with than try to create special circumstances.

*It was bad... so is current one, but it's lesser of two evils, I think.
