I haven't made a large base this last world, so one has satisfied me, but if I were really trying to put on the stats, I'd probably have to go 8 again, even with the extra fuel requirements now (used to be a bug in ovens and kilns so they used almost no fuel). And that's just to feed me. I'll say 4 is a minimum for anyone with any real desire to eat baked goods.

It might be considered abhorrent, but I rarely even eat unless my char needs the energy and even then, when he sits down and eats 3 tables of food, I still have plenty left over, I guess I tend to utilize everything I produce, instead of focusing on just sausages, or baked goods? I probably don't push the limits of the FEP gain that way, but its more of a LARPy thing lol. The increase in slots from legacy has kept me using just one oven, I couldn't imagine 4 lol! Need a whole cellar for the product!

Given that cooking is simple enough to be fully automated/botted and I know multiple people who bot all their baked goods, I think making it easier is not going to matter much.

Making food much easier means faster titans. Means sooner dead game. As for the botting argument all I can say is if you can't be bothered to play then don't.

This is a pretty good idea but it would be impossible to execute in a way that wouldn't make most players want to die. I'd actually rather just build two ovens than need to rightclick extra shit and open more menus. If anything it would buff the people that automatically fill their ovens and do their whole baking process through "macros" and "scripts." (They aren't botting, they swear!)

That's not how they view it. They view it as, "I must do this if I want to be competitive!" and to most of them that is all that matters.

To the rest they cannot be bothered to go without the bots because of the monotony of the task being botted.

It is also worth noting that the way the game currently works, if baking becomes too weak, it will be replaced by cheese. If it becomes too strong, it will replace cheese. Pretty much how all the things in the game are right now because there is no actual deterrent from just spamming one type of food. If you sustain yourself purely off cheese you can just abuse the satiation mechanics.

I also don't think that titans begin to spell the demise of the game. The world becomes dead as soon as the first few months are over for the majority and everyone's more or less at the "End game" of grind stats to do the (very poorly balanced) dungeon content or just watch their numbers rise because autism.

Well spoken m'lady, well spoken indeed. For now they are a necessary evil for some to remain competitive, and even to have some hope of keeping the peace (for how to bring down a titan if not a titan oneself?). I hope that Jorb and Loftar will continue to find ways to eliminate the usefulness of botting, but in the meantime, they are here to stay.

Bots are only harmful if they chop down all forests (not done in this world, yet)
or if you play competitively.
Only handful of players try to play competitively so it does not really matter what their opinions are.

I guess that bots are also a symptom of stupid mechanics?

I would like it if there were no bots. The reality of the situation is different though, and when designing new mechanics for the game, they need to be considered.
I disagree that this is an improvement that will lead to faster titans. Big factions already run large sets of ovens and cooking bots to manage them. If you make cooking easier, if anything, it will help the people who don't have bots. more than those who do already.

I agree with you about the stat disparity. There are titan chars with 10-20k stats that are thousands of times stronger than the average player but I think the way to fix this is through reduced combat scaling, not cooking mechanics.

-1. You can already do this by building another oven and without additional inventory-management-clicking-nightmare.

See, that takes space and bricks I'd rather not use.
