I put rope here only to make it a bit harder to build or create, whatever You call it. So You can't make such stockpiles as easy as any othem stockpile, so it's not abused wrong way and stuff.

there's no point in making a log stockpile hard to make when you can just drop either on the ground or into a small cart, wich is pretty easy to make.

Sorry, I'm with the OP on this one, it is a PITA to pull an examine on every log you pull out of a wagon or cart or even clicking each individual log in your line of logs to get the Q of each one separately, this type of structure has been suggested before multiple times because it IS a good quality of life idea as well as a reprieve to the unnecessary overuse of mouse clicks.

and, not only that, as may save some system resources as the rendering of the items is much less.

It is really silly this hasn't been added. There is already shit in the game that "achieves" this (wagon for example). Just take a cart, make in stationary, Reskin it to look like what OP posted, then increase volume. Done.

Now this is a hilarious workaround, completly unnecessary. There is already a garden shed, which is much closer to the needed utility, just expand liftable slots, remove container properties and update the model.
If i would to guess, the problem with implementing it is that there is no system ATM, that properly shows stored liftable items. As in, all the storage containers show liftables as grey bags. You'd agree that a log pallet with rows of sack would look weird. Making a new type of container that shows exactly what type of log it stores might not be possible before the object controlled objects rewrite?

As far as I know, there is no storage for liftable items that display qualities, nor types where applicable.

well, it's not terribly hard to implement them...speaking about logs, i still think that the inspect command should show the log type too

Well, if we are going that route, I would also like to see on inspect materials that were used in the crafting of inspected items, (such as if copper or bronze were used in the crafting of a cauldron: or what types of block/planks were used in a chicken coop).
