Personally, I consider the only choice for each character to be more honest.

well i didnt pay attention to the discussion on discord but how the slider in legacy worked was it was affecting stat raising but i kinda like how fighters can continue raising stats as they fight now

also ppl just made new chars to grind on while they fought on their full trad chars etc, a bit lame imo.

Positives to your way - Set stat/combat skill limit so everybody would know when they qualify for getting killed and there would be a point when almost all fighters are sure to pass that cap (which I actually like)
Negatives to your way - If the cap is set at a static limit that never changes then it could be months before anybody would even be able to die

Positives to Grangers way - Dynamic stat cap which can be effective right from the get go and always changing
Negatives of Grangers way - How would the people who are eligable to die know they're in that range? Surely they wouldn't just have to assume they are, right?

I dunno, I still think the Rage thing discussed might work out better but the whole complication between people without Rage just waiting to get attacked should be thought on some more, there could be a relatively easy work around to it.

Well under the current system people can still die in combat and that shouldnt change under my suggestion so death would still be possible just unlikely

also i think not having many deaths until the limit isnt necessarily terrible because if people are under it they likely wont have some crazy high stats with a huge advantage over most people

Jokes aside: you guys always ask for more thrill - running around with a leveled-up character and not knowing if you will die on defeat would add to that, won't it?

This is actually a good idea, hermits and people that don't want to fight just can stay in safe KO range and people that want to do pvp would go over the safe point and unlock DYING. That and diminishing returns for stats so at some point you have to eat a cupboard of peppered cheese instead of 1 piece to get a +fep and it will be easier to catch up, noobs will be safe and pvpers will have more fun.
