I actually think that 'short distance roads' not only shouldn't be free, they should cost MORE to discourage people from using fucking roads for fucking every fucking little fucking thing.

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...

I think it should be "opposite". As the road increases, the travel weariness should increase slightly less.

Something like.

0,25 grid - X travel
0,5 grid - 2x travel
1 grid - 3x travel
2 grid - 4x travel
4 grid - 5x travel
8 grid - 6x travel
16 grid - 7x travel
32 grid - 8x travel

So longer roads would be better in travel consumption, so if you want to stop in somewhere between, you should make short roads or walk.

Or just go by making one click on the map (at least if your base is not like Jorb's). Takes less clicks and about the same or even less time considering you don't have to go to the road sign first.
Too old to rock-n-roll, too young to die.

I think short distances should be free, i think i posted this in the W11 changelog thread. Wooden roads should give maybe 1 map grid, stone ones maybe 3. I think those values could be doubled if all road portions are contained by the same claim. If the concern is really that large amounts of roads will be strung together then give the roads a cooldown of a minute that starts applying after using 3 roads within a minute.

Careful with your memes when they can be pointed back at you, sir.

You might think I thought about that mate.. I know everyone's opinion is as valid (or invalid) as my own. I just like poking fun. ;)

As someone who likes to wander, I find that it's more fun to simply follow the road - you can pick up forageables, find your neighbors, that sort of thing. Shorter travel weariness for shorter travels makes the most sense in my head; I can wait the 3 seconds (even 30 seconds or 3 minutes, really) to take another one from one end of the village to the other.

Being stopped by travel weariness for a time also encourages players to encounter each other; it's a multiplayer game where the biggest danger is other people, and there should be some risk involved in going a long distance.
