tdlr; make quests alot rarer but consistently good (ie. always ok amount of lp, items/exp as bonus.)

You forget that early game, before You can build a base, You scatter away from your base in search for resources You need, so questing is a nice convienient way of time sink, instead of just collecting stuff -> port back -> drop down -> repeat, You either collect stuff on your way between questgivers or drop them in terms of searching something particular, allowing your character progression. Before, if You weren't a faction or a person with strict plan, I would bet You were the one of many who occupied swamps to collect dragonflies and dandelions from area because You lacked a goal while waiting for claim and later pali to dry.

Exactly.

Pretty much this. You don't lose anything by not questing, but it's something rewarding you might as well be doing if you want to play but are waiting for leather/crops/coal etc.

Agree they are still too over powered and just too random. I did a quest to kill a bat and greet a couple trees that took an hour and got 50 exp or so. A village mate walked 5 minutes and got his stomach relived by 150%. Saw a gilding rock for +17 intel too. zzz

Maybe devs could change rewards to be at least more consistent. It takes quite a large amount of time to complete 1 quest, and reward could be 10 000 lp, 10lp or 1 quality higher blueberries in the vicinity...

I really like the randomness of rewards, and quests as they are - a little bit of gambling, one might say - loot boxes :) I'd say leave quests alone.
