Right now there's an 8 hour window of time where, unless you have rage, you cannot defend your land until the claim is dry. So is it intended that you have to invest 40/50k LP in skills and stats at the start of the game in order to have your stuff not destroyed every 20 minutes?

Hide away somewhere remote till you're ready.

Sailing around the entire continent, up and down all the rivers im finding, running inland on horses several tiles im still finding peoples setups. So how do you determine when you're in a remote area? or is the solution just wait until the server pop dies like it always does so the game becomes playable?

Exactly. And if you see people bashing poles, memorize them. And break their bases later. They deserve it.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

If you put boxes inside a leanto it gets the same protections as a set pclaim for up to 2 containers. Pretty sure it's one per customer. This serves as your holdover until a claim dries.

If someone's going around breaking claims, you don't really want to be there when they get battering rams and rage anyway.

This world will die down in 2 months anyways. Its too brutal for casual gamers.

Here is a friendly tip.
Stop paving land before your claim is up.
Its painting a target that reads "Free hide and food! Come one come all!"

This is why many of us tell new players that new worlds suck. It's highly competitive and you get your shit kicked in just because you spawned in the wrong place. It's like playing fortnite, but you have to go back and face the same assholes over and over again instead of joining some random match.

Try chatting people you see. Some might be willing to share a space with you. It is an MMO after all. Don't be completely anti-social. ;)

First weekend everyone is on no-lifing. Next weekend... not so much. People develop a playing schedule and things get a bit more normal. The elitist jerks are usually the first to burn out and quit leaving us lifers and the real elitists around for the remainder of the world.

Here's the real problem: you can't and you shouldn't be social with raiders, especially when they start speaking Polish.

Quoting the wiki:

This is to prevent troll-claims by providing some initial window during which they can be destroyed freely

"Initial window" my arse, 8 hours is too damn high. Now imagine if someone else would settle and play alone. Right now me and my group literally have to stand in a circle around the claim for 1 more hour simply because yet another one dipshit came, tried to demolish the claim and fled with a first crate he could see.

Alright. Let's have the devs change it to "something reasonable" and then have you come here bitching about those same Polish raiders after the drop a claim and protected siege weapons on you. Balance, man... it's all about balance.

and welcome to a new world. it doesn't get more cutthroat than this.
