Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

The issue we're trying to address is alt abuse though. If you put a restriction/penalty on the character, people will just use alts to do it.

Clearly jorb and lorb have no concerns with alts at this point in development. Tons of things in the game are best enjoyed with an alt, such as partaking in beeswax, partaking in the activity of "Digging," (because efficacy punishes you for actually playing the game) credos, I'm probably forgetting some since I've been forgetting which part of my login keychain does what.

I think quest givers should just beat you up if you try to demolish them. Simple as that. jorb said he liked that idea. I'm sure they'll give a wound with a charisma debuff at least.

Perhaps if you tried to destroy them they could turn into the currently useless(?) Dryads and lay the smack down on you.

There's a difference in someone killing QG just for griefing and new player killing a simple tree that He has no knowledge about being special. Since visitor gates are only way of protecing GQ, You can ask for Grangers idea (?) to move them to nearby tree/stone or just leave it be, since any "HEY YOU WANNA KILL A TREE, YOU MUST PAY" or "TURN INTO DRYAD AND BEAT THEM DOWN" idea WILL NOT WORK. (but second would be fun to watch)

To address the not-knowing it's a quest giver thing, the "Chop" or "Chip" command can be renamed to identify it's not a usual tree or stone. You're getting an experience event when right clicking on them already, so you kinda sometimes can tell they're unusual, so IMO renaming these wouldn't hurt.

To address the not-knowing it's a quest giver thing would be a perfect tool for griefers to run along and kill one those who has "special" option. Which basically mean, You would have to enforce something to stop them from doing that. Which is not cool.

One thing I don't like about imposing special mechanics here is that you can suddenly tell which trees and stones are talking. I like that you, outside of a quest to them, can't.

Sure, but you can't just right-click them and find out.
