The actual damage part is fine for hunting, but this nonsense with softcapping animal quality by ammo on every fucking hit is just a trash fire. This hamstrings the bone arrow quality rise and a large part of early game progression by extension.

Guys what the hell.

I tried it last world, there haven't been changes since. I needed like 30 Archery to shoot the bow at a reasonable pace, and the animals never stop moving anyway so it's hard to line up a shot. My tactic was to get a friend to aggro the animal, then shoot them. Then the animal is shit quality because every shot softcaps the animal q.

If I had just dumped the 30 points in UA, I would be able to kill the animals earlier and get better stuff from it. It's not even safer because if you miss then you're not prepared to fight the animal, and you won't get another shot.

Archery should at least make it feasible to hunt game up to deer in a reasonable/efficient way, above that it should be inefficient.

Literally just remove the whole arrows capping quality shit and replace it with survival being the cap, same as what happened for unarmed.
I've got 2 unarmed/melee fighters right now and an archer who I haven't touched much except when I jump on to feed him and throw on curios. The archer has fuck all to do at the moment, why would I ever bring him hunting when I can kill shit quicker and have better quality with either of my melee fighters?
I ~L I T E R A L L Y~ don't know why only archers get gimped in the hunting aspect when they're not even fucking better or safer than melee anyway. If you know any of the cheesing strats with melee you'd realize you're in no danger what so ever and you don't have to take years setting up a barricade to kill shit like archers do.

Damage aspect is indeed totally fine though on an archers end, it just needs the arrow cap removed and replaced and it will be fine.

be aware that all restorations use ua, so ua is a must have, while mc is not really that important, considering that mc attacks are bad for raising openings
