Only for LP gain. If you are after one move specifically (Take Aim f.e.) it doesn't matter if you kill ant after ant after ant or squeeze another animal in the scheme.

I remember what loftar said, but it still doesn't feel like that. You go from getting a move every other animal to getting 1/20-1/50 *really* fast.
Of course, it's entirely possible the hidden anti-bot/variety enforcing mechanics work on this too, which could also explain things.
