It's not just when idling (I never idle outside, not without keeping my eyes on the screen), I get bitten by midges for trying to light my fucking ore smelter. No outside activity is safe within your own base, even when being constantly present and active. It's not fun to have to stop farming for a bit because midges decided to hover around your crops.

i'd reckon thats a problem with midges themselves and not the fact that shit can go in to your claim. i'd say if a golden eagle flies past your nab base and RKO's you because you're afk sitting in your rocking chair smoking pipeweed listening to nordic music on youtube repeat then you should probably get creamed. midges are a totally different thing and we actually keep dead alts soaking midges at all times in our murderfort

Guys I fell asleep right in front of my PC and when I woke up a hour later I had 18 concussion, peeps from my place said that eagle just came and knocked everyone. And I assume that if I had rage, I'd be dead for good.
I felt like my own properly built base is not safe anymore, and this is the reason why I made this thread.

Also I'm not sure about bats, I always thought that they cant fly over the wall, can they??

probably be more careful about leaving your game running

back in my day we used to die over that shit all the time because there was real permadeath and some dickhead would just rbow/sling/woodbow you depending on the stage of the game

Just because you got used to avoiding and suffering from a badly designed and underdeveloped mechanic doesn't mean others should tolerate it. Having your character rendered useless from allergic reactions, or straight up dying while taking a piss as he is standing inside your closed walls and on your own claim is exactly that mechanic

Flying creatures should fly over shit, it doesn't really make sense in world otherwise. Midges shouldn't exist outside swamps, but as for the rest... afk in a house like sane people. People've been talking about village buffs along the lines of credos/realms. Maybe make one so that animals won't initiate aggression on you within your Vclaim or something.

Solving this by making flyers not be able to fly over a rather short wall is a pretty stupid solution imo. Also afk inside you dolts.

You're complaining about a mechanic that has solutions available in game without taking advantage of that...?
