maybe give it a double use, like a shield, sure looks like a badass shield to me

Didn't see your reply so I edited rather than posted new:

I'd been meaning to build one of these for ages, I see what you mean by it not being very useable in its current state. Because it takes up the backpack slot there's almost no reason to equip it since you lose nearly as many slots as you gain. It's actually 1 tile of space saved lol. Maybe a better compromise would be for it to take up the cape slot? I'd definitely consider using it for the loss of a cape slot, not for the loss of the backpack slot though.

As to the equip on pickup, it should just be one of the Rclick options.

I like the auto equip into the water. The cosmetic idea is unreasonable too like everyone else said.

It does auto equip on pickup if you use the Rclick pickup option btw.
