This does not fix the issue.
Naked alts without anything but just an axe and a bucket should not be able to cut down any quest giver.
Just make it so that a character has to live for at least a week or two till it is able to chop any quest giver, that way these alts can at least be killed before they chop more than one or two trees.

And require some stats, total lp or something too, just how the hearthling skull works.

also could spawn a quest spirit that hunts the killer then it goes to inhabit a near object

On a bit unrelated note, in Don't Starve there is this thing that when you chop too many trees in the world without planting some, the next one you strike becomes an ent.

However implementing such ghost of vengeance to kill anyone who strikes down a quest tree, even by mistake, would be too severe.

Maybe a way to restore a quest giver then? Would make it stupid to try and get them. Right now questing gives too much of good rewards. If people really start griefing it up it will turn into barren, questless world. Maybe further quest nerf alongside with NPC restoration is in order. To not give the griefers such an impact.

I thought about it and also it could be made, that once a quest giver had been cut, the quests you had do not fail, but rather are instantly assigned to a new tree in the same area that the previous quest giver had been chopped (it could even be a tree that is 1 square away). This way there would be no possibility to troll the quests.

+1 to some kind of restriction to destroying Quest Givers.

I'm all in favor of quest-givers respawning in a nearby tree/boulder if cut down.

idk making quest givers actual creatures that would get up when you try to chop them and fight you would effectively stop alts chopping it.
stronger people could still chop your tree if they are strong enough to kill the tree ent
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

Not only this problem with cutting them down, but our questgivers was walled by scums, only because they can do that and they think its fun. So now we cant do quests, cant cut down trees. And to get access to questgivers need to do sieging, witch is ridiculous to waste so much time and resources just for trees.
